Serve Well

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” Galatians 5:13

Most everyone who’s a part of Kitchen One for One is in it because somewhere within them is a desire to serve well. As we serve, we should consider what it means to God for us to serve well…

First off, the Bible emphasizes that serving others is a fundamental aspect of living a life that honors God.

Jesus teaches us that serving others well is just like serving Him. He highlights acts of kindness such as feeding the hungry, welcoming strangers, and visiting the sick and imprisoned. This teaching emphasizes the importance of compassion and empathy when serving, encouraging us to see the light in every person we serve.

Our verse from Galatians reminds us to use the freedoms found in Christ to serve one another in love, emphasizing that true service stems from a heart of love and humility.

Serving others isn’t supposed to be about grand gestures that bring attention to ourselves, but about everyday acts done in love.

Through His Word, God encourages us to use our unique gifts to serve others well. We all have something valuable to contribute, and even the smallest acts of service are significant in God’s eyes.

Jesus serves as our ultimate model when it comes to serving others. He came “not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.” His act of self-sacrifice sets our standard for service, demonstrating that true greatness in God’s kingdom is found in humility and selflessness.
