Teamwork

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12

From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:16

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-5

Do you think teamwork is important to God?

Consider your family. Without teamwork, everything falls apart. The same goes for Christ’s church. Jesus Himself said, “a house divided shall not stand.”

God’s design is to use the Body of Christ to advance His purposes. And His purposes are most important.

Kitchen One for One is a ministry, serving a specific purpose within God’s Kingdom, that is made up of a team consisting of volunteers, donors, some staff members, and a Board. Teamwork is crucial for the success of the vision and mission that God has given us. Everyone must know and do their part.

Just like any good team, we need to understand what we need to accomplish and how our work connects to the overall mission of the Body of Christ.

Collectively, our team can only truly give it our all when we know that something real, maybe even something of Biblical proportions, is at stake.

Individually, each team member should realize that the team’s success depends on their efforts. On a baseball team, for example, the pitcher and the catcher do different jobs, but neither can do their job without the other. Every part of the team is unique and valuable.

What’s your part to play on this team, and how can you play well… as though doing it unto the Lord?
